The pathway to success is through selecting the correct process. Of course, we are going to start with thumbnails...
Part of the process is though is discovering the right values we need for our project. This may include setting up still life reference to photograph or draw to help you get the results you need.
Do you already know how to draw a shiny texture? Or how light exactly will effect an object? Of course not, and neither do I. That is why I would get this reference too.
So it's very important to get the right reference to make your picture more believable. Look at the reflection of light in the picture below, or even the really interesting cast shadows. Talent can't make that up, it has to be observed.
So our goal to make amazing pictures is to also get and use amazing reference.
With it you can do studies to maximize what your possibilities are for you image.
As you continue to study your work will continue to get better as you understand more and more what the object is like and how light and dark effect it.
Speaking of light and dark, we are doing gig posters and fire against a dark background is awesome especially to show passion in music.
Fire on an object...
Fire...Fire... Fire
The bomb... So if I was going to make a rock poster bombs, skulls, and fire make total sense.
Final poster...
